Tweaks/Balancing:

Live Update – 19th June, 2020

This update’s build is v0.0.306 and includes:

New Features:

  • The Holographic Planet Selector has been overhauled. It will now show the galaxy you’re in near the selector, stacking up the other galaxies around it – the higher they are the further they are from you.

Tweaks/Balancing:

  • Destiny and the Alterran Home Galaxy are now 4x further away from Earth, both in opposite directions – so it now takes up to 2 weeks to travel from one side of the universe (Destiny) to the other (Alterran galaxy).

Bugfixes:

  • Players have to travel up to 500 blocks from the planet selector to select a star in another galaxy (https://github.com/StargateMC/IssueTracker/issues/202)
  • Stellar Distance calculations do not properly use both the X and Z coordinates of the source and destinaton star.

Blog back in business

Hi All,

As you can see with this week’s update, we’re making great headway toward releasing Destiny before July.

I’m holding off on roleplay content for now, as I feel that we can help fill out the universe more rapidly by focusing on three key areas for the next 6 weeks:

  • Stabilising and optimising core game mechanics (such as stargates, rings and ships)
  • Getting the spawn areas into the game (SGC, Atlantis, Destiny)
  • Populating the universe with NPC mobs and non-complex interactive NPCs, such as vendors or soldiers from various factions

Once we move on from the above in July/August I’ll be focusing on balancing out things and allowing players to become evil if they so choose through September and October – befriending the Wraith, Goauld, Replicators or The Ori loyalists.. before finally, at the end of this year having ‘version 1.0’ released.

In the meantime I’m hoping to get some help with:

  • Designing & Building (or locating a schematic/world save) that could suit us for Celestis, Asgard homeworlds in Ida and Othala, A replicator stronghold, Wraith stronghold and Goauld stronghold…. the reason for so many is to give players a spawn hub no matter what faction they choose to befriend in any galaxy.
  •  Learning CustomNPCs and creating NPC mobs for the server.

Feel free to hit me up anytime with questions, issues or ideas, or voice your ideas on the issue tracker to see if they stand up to the test of other player’s feedback 🙂

Happy gating!

Bysokar

Live Update – June 14th, 2020

This fortnight’s release is build v1.12.2-0.0.257 and includes:

New Features:

  • Universe Stargates have been added as the new ‘Tier 1’ of stargates. Crafting a stargate without any upgrades will now result in a universe gate.
Universe gates do not integrate with ancient zero point module technology directly and consume 30% more power when dialled, but they do dial out faster than both MilkyWay and Pegasus designs as the ancients designed them to be their quick and nasty gate solution.
  • We’re now using a new Discord Integration mod. This should not result in any visible changes for players. It should also mean the server no longer hangs on startup!

Tweaks/Balancing:

  • Usage of Pegasus Gate Type Upgrade items now require a ‘MilkyWay’ aka. Tier 2 stargate.
  • A new MilkyWay Gate Type Upgrade item has been added to facilitate upgrading a gate from Tier 1 to 2.
  • Universe style stargates will now be used during world generation in the Destiny and Alterran home galaxies.
  • Ida and Othala galaxies will now have a 90% chance to have a MilkyWay gate spawn during world generation, with the remaining 10% of the Pegasus variety.
  • MilkyWay stargates now use 15% more power when dialling out
  • ZPM Consoles will now only integrate with MilkyWay and Pegasus type stargates.
  • ZPM Consoles now have a loss rate of 15% when drawing power from ZPMs. (100% extracted, 115% consumed)
  • ZPM Interface Carts (Tauri Design) now have a loss rate of 30% when drawing power from ZPMs. (100% extracted, 130% consumed)
  • ZPM Hubs now only integrate directly with a Pegasus type stargate.

Bugfixes:

  • Computers cannot dial a stargate (https://github.com/StargateMC/IssueTracker/issues/115)
  • Ring Transporter has no recipe (https://github.com/StargateMC/IssueTracker/issues/144)
  • MFFS items have no recipe (https://github.com/StargateMC/IssueTracker/issues/177)
  • Server log spam in StargateMC Coremod (https://github.com/StargateMC/IssueTracker/issues/171)
  • Wolf NPCs are too strong (https://github.com/StargateMC/IssueTracker/issues/163)
  • Ink has no recipe (https://github.com/StargateMC/IssueTracker/issues/158)
  • AR Gas Mining doesnt work (https://github.com/StargateMC/IssueTracker/issues/125)
  • Food doesnt restore reasonable health for players (https://github.com/StargateMC/IssueTracker/issues/160)

Known Issues:

  • Stargate blocks still only have a Milkyway texture until a gate is formed
